Swinburne FC have progressed to the second round of the 2025 Australia Cup without kicking a ball after Old St Kevins unexpectedly forfeited their opening-round clash.

St Kevins cited difficulties with the new PlayFootball registration system, preventing them from fielding a registered squad. As a result, Swinburne FC advance by default and will now face Doncaster Rovers in the second round.

Doncaster Rovers, who play in State League 2 South-East, finished 10th in the 2024 season and sit five tiers above Swinburne FC in the Victorian football pyramid.

The match will be held at Doncaster’s home ground, with the fixtures to be scheduled between February 28 and March 3, 2025.
